Dr. Ali Sturtevant
Head Equine Veterinarian
Dr. Ali Sturtevant is originally from Franklin, Massachusetts but has spent her adult life in Missouri and Kentucky. Ali has been an active hunter-jumper competitor for more than 25 years, giving her a unique perspective on the needs of equine athletes.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Equine Business and Pre-Veterinary Studies from University of Louisville before completing her Master of Business Administration at William Woods University, where she also served as the Equine Graduate Assistant. Ali then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Missouri.
Following veterinary school, Ali practiced at Mid-Rivers Equine Centre outside of St. Louis, where she developed her skills in a wide range of equine medical and emergency cases. She recently joined Rocky Mountain Animal Hospital and enjoys providing comprehensive care to horses across a variety of disciplines. Her professional interests include sports medicine, general practice, and emergency medicine. With extensive experience treating both English sport horses and Western performance horses, Ali is dedicated to helping them perform at their best while maintaining long-term health and soundness.
Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, horses, and dogs. Her hobbies include horse showing, snowboarding, boating and long-range shooting.
